Frugal Family Fun – JUST DANCE

I know many families schedule a Family Game Night – either once a week or every other week.  It’s a great idea for quality family time in an otherwise hectic schedule. For this week’s Frugal Family Fun post – I thought a Family DANCE Night would be a blast!

We got the Kinect for Christmas (along with Just Dance 3) and I know lots of folks that have the Wii.  Using these gaming devices would make for a super easy way to get your Dance Party set up – but even if you don’t have those – all you need is a radio or CD player.

We actually did this a couple weeks ago at a friend’s house and the kids (and us moms too!) had a BLAST!  Turn the house lights on low, turn the music up, and make sure EVERYONE gets included.  Not only is it ALOT of fun, it’s also a great workout :) You can dance all together – or make “Rounds” where two-three people dance at a time and then you take turns.

For your dance party – I would suggest FUN finger foods and you can find these on sale at Publix this week:

Tyson Breaded Chicken, Steak Fingers, Country Fried Steak, Mini Chicken Sandwich, or Stuffed Mini Bread Bowls, 16 to 32 oz, BOGO $5.99

Freschetta Pizza, 14.62 to 28.01 oz, 2/$10

Totino’s Party Pizza, 9.8 to 10.9 oz, 4/$5
-$1/5 Totino’s Crisp Crust Party Pizza Products
-$1/5 Totino’s Crisp Crust Party Pizza Products
-$1/5 Totino’s Crisp Crust Party Pizza Products
-$1/5 Totino’s Crisp Crust Party Pizza Products

-$0.75/3 Totino’s Crisp Crust Party Pizza 01/29/2012 SS Insert (exp 04/21/2012)

For Dessert:

Luigi’s Real Italian Ice, 24 to 36 oz, BOGO $3.19

Duncan Hines Decadent Brownie Mix, 16.76 to 18 oz, BOGO $2.79

The most important thing is to HAVE FUN Let your hair down, put your dancing shoes on, dance like no one is watching, laugh…ENJOY EACH OTHER!

p.s. It doesn’t hurt to make a recording device handy – I have the CUTEST video ever of Sadie on my cell phone dancing with one of her best buddies – If I knew anything about YouTube I would share it here with you guys :)

Here is another great frugal activity for your local readers. The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their 2012 World Tour to Tampa on Saturday, March 3 at 7PM at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Have you ever been to one of their shows? They are amazing, and something everyone should experience at least once!

Even better, if you go to http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0D00473ADBCC80A3 to purchase tickets, you can save $7 when using the promotional coupon code MOM. Restrictions apply.

The wows, the laughs, the magic – these moments become the memories that last a lifetime! Highflying dunks … eye-popping tricks… hilarious jokes … the Globetrotters will have you smiling from start to finish. At the Globetrotters, the game of basketball sets the stage for an experience you will never forget. The Harlem Globetrotters just signed a historic rookie class that includes the top three finishers from the 2011 College Slam Dunk Contest! The Slam Dunk Champion, Jacob “Hops” Tucker, will showcase his ridiculous 50-inch vertical leap. This year’s roster also features the first female in a generation – TNT Maddox – joining Showman Big Easy Lofton. Players and rosters are subject to change. Please visit http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com for more information on this amazing new team.

I work for Miles Of Marketing and this information was provided to me by them (www.milesofmarketing.com). We are a group of moms passing along great information like this to other moms!
