I have a fun recipe and review for you guys this evening from the fabulous folks at General Mills and MyBlogSpark!ย  If you know me, you know that I love to snack.ย  The hard part is having snacks around the house that are easy to make, tasty, and not completely horrible for me ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  So, I have to say that my family and I were pretty excited to try this Minion Munch Chex Party Mix Recipe.

Minion Munch Chex Party Mix Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Honey Nut Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chex cereal
  • 2 cups Banana Nut Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts ¼ cup butter or margarine
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 cup freeze dried banana chips (or regular dried banana chips)
  • ½ cup candy-coated chocolate candies
Instructions
  1. In large microwaveable bowl, measure cereals and peanuts.
  2. In 2-cup microwaveable measuring cup, microwave butter until melted, about 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in brown sugar and peanut butter; microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture is boiling
  4. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated.
  5. Microwave uncovered on High about 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until mixture is glazed.
  6. Cool 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in dried bananas and candies.
  8. Spread on waxed paper to cool.
  9. Store in airtight container.
  10. Enjoy!

We made our snack mix for the 1st time when my parents were visiting and we all settled in to enjoy a Family Movie Night.

  6. We do not have family movie nights. To be honest I never really thought of it. We have family game nights though. Might have to give that a try!

  8. Every Saturday night is family pizza/movie night. We have pizza and then popcorn with reese’s pieces mixed in while we are watching the movie

  9. We have movie-junk food days. We order pizza, make popcorn, eat brownies or cookies, and watch movies all day in our PJs.

  10. We have movie night when the granddaughters come over about one time a month and we all sit back and watch a family safe movie and eat snacks is a lot of fun.

  11. My son is too little for movies, but my husband and I have movie nights. We like hot chocolate and cookies for movie night.

  12. We have movie nights often and normally we don’t have snacks but when we do it’s salsa and chips or chips and dip.

  13. Every Friday we either watch a movie together or play a board game together. Popcorn with m&m’s mixed in it is usually our snack.

  15. we watch alot of movies, and are just beginning to try the movie night with our two year old. my favorite snack is chocolate doughnuts if im at home and maybe some nachos if im at a theater.

  16. As my girls get older, they are less and less – although a good snow storm can change that as none of us want to go out and freeze – LOL For snacks, it all depends on the mood – but yes, we snack while we watch

  17. Yes, we do. If I were more industrious, we would have homemade Chex mix EVERY time. That is our favorite. But ice cream is a close second.

  18. We have lots of movie nights, a lot of the time the snack is actually dinner but otherwise it’s fruit like grapes or apples and caramel dip (most popular)!

  21. We rotate family game night and family movie night and we usually get pizza for both. Sometimes we throw in popcorn or chips and dip as well.

  22. Yes we’re empty nester’s after raising 4 sons and we watch movies a couple times a month. Eat chips ice cream cereal etc
