Pineapple Carrot Protein Smoothie

A smoothie a day is a must for me.  And just about every day it’s something different, well, because what I have in my refrigerator is always changing.  I wasn’t even going to post this smoothie recipe because I thought it would be a bit boring.  I mean it only has one fruit and one veggie and some greens.  But, after I took the first sip, I was grabbing for my camera.  I couldn’t wait to share it with you all – It was delicious!!

Pineapple – Pineapple is packed with vitamin C and contains the enzyme bromelain (which aids in the digestion of protein and can help with inflammation).

Carrots – Are linked to preventing cancer and giving you healthier looking skin, plus they give you vitamin A and aid in digestion.

Chia seeds – Are nutritional powerhouses, I add them into every smoothie.

Turmeric – It has so many benefits, but one of the main ones is it helps with inflammation.

Cinnamon – Has many benefits, one of my favorites is that it helps increase your metabolism.

Ingredients
  • 5-6 baby carrots
  • 2 slices pineapple
  • Handful of greens - I use what is in my refrigerator, usually a Spring Mix
  • 3 ice cubes
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon chia seeds
  • 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
  • 4 - 6 oz. coconut water
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients into your blending device as listed
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. Enjoy!
