Apple-Spice Country Ribs Crockpot Dinner

I love Fall, a little cooler air is moving in down here in Florida (well, at list at night and early morning) and it’s by far my favorite time of the year. Decorate the house in fall colors, bring out the pumpkins and sit and watch the leaves fall and if you are lucky, even change colors.  I plan on heading to MI for a weekend so that I can see some Fall color – hopefully it won’t be snowing already :D big grin
Fall and apples are just like pumpkins and Thanksgiving; so I wanted to make something fall like yet Ribs were on sale for the Holiday weekend; how about combine the two and let’s see what will come out.
This week she found a great recipe in the Quick and Easy Autumn book from Gooseberry Patch.
This is what you will need:
Apple-Spice Country Ribs Crockpot Dinner

Total time: 
Serves: 4 to 6
  • 2 to 3lbs. country pork ribs
  • 3 baking apples, cored ad cut into wedges
  • ⅔ c. apple cider
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1t. cinnamon
  • 1 t. allspice
  • ½t. salt
  • ¼t. pepper
  1. If bone-in ribs are used, slice into serving size portion. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker;
  2. stir to coat
  3. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours
  4. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes
We added a dash of red wine vinegar

This is what it will look like……..Yup; that was in the Crockpot! Super easy!  They added rice and Broccoli, but anything even Baked Beans and Coleslaw would be wonderful with this dish.
