Avocado Strawberry Protein Smoothie
I have had so much beautiful produce in my refrigerator lately that I have been inspired to create new smoothie recipes. Avocados are a superfood, and when used in a smoothie, they are creamy and delicious. Florida strawberries are in season right now and I have bought some at the market and I have had two neighbors bring me some that were fresh-picked! Does it get any better than that?
I do like adding cinnamon, turmeric and chia seeds into my smoothies. You will see them in just about every smoothie recipe I post as they do very little to change the flavor profile of the smoothie and they are very good for us. Cinnamon increases metabolism, turmeric is good for inflammation, and chia seeds are just little nutritional powerhouses.
Now, here is my Avocado Strawberry Protein Smoothie Recipe. Be sure to Print It and Pin It so that you can make it again and again.
- 4 baby carrots
- 4 slices cucumber
- ½ avocado
- 6 strawberries
- handful greens
- ½ cup Lowfat Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt - I used Cabot Creamery
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric
- ¼ teaspoon chia seeds
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 ice cubes
- 2 - 4 oz of coconut water or liquid of your choice
- Place all ingredients as listed above into your favorite blending device
- Blend until smooth
