Beet Cucumber Smoothie – With Almond Milk
I have been getting more and more adventurous with my Beets lately in my smoothies. I went to my local Trader Joe’s (local meaning within 45 mins) for the first time a few weeks ago and I noticed that beets are WAY cheap there! So, I grabbed a few bags and I have been creating away in the smoothie department 🙂 I also bought my 1st ever Almond Beverage. My friend can’t have dairy, so she drinks it all the time so I decided to give it a whirl!
I am surprised that for someone that had never eaten a beet before, that I am actually enjoying them! Plus, the color of the smoothie always comes out of the blender so pretty!
Now, here is my Beet Cucumber Almond Milk Smoothie Recipe, be sure to Print It and Pin It so that you can make it again and again.
- 4 slices of cucumber
- 1 small beet
- 4-5 strawberries with greens cut off
- ½ banana
- 4 oz of Almond Milk
- 3 - 4 ice cubes
- Place ingredients in blending device as listed above
- Blend until smooth
Here are some of the health benefits to the ingredients in this protein smoothie:
Beets – They are very high in vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and they also contain vitamin B.
Cucumbers – These are great for rehydration. Cucumbers are also a great source of vitamin B, so that means they are a natural pick-me-up.
Strawberries – These red beauties are loaded with vitamins, fiber, and potassium. As an added benefit – they are fat-free 🙂
Bananas – Besides tasting great, they are loaded with potassium which helps muscles recover and relax, and they have also been known to help you sleep better.
I hope you enjoy this Beet Cucumber Almond Milk Smoothie Recipe as much as I do!
