It’s time to share the FREE and CHEAP weekend activities for October! These fun family activities are either FREE or super cheap…and they are at the stores that we all know and love 🙂

Saturday, October 1, at 11 a.m. – Storytime and Activities Featuring Highlights™ Magazine
Join us for engaging activities and fun with features from Highlights™ magazine, including puzzles, group activities and a make and take book (while supplies last). Saturday, October 1, at 4 p.m. – LEGO® Star Wars Rogue One Build Event
Kids ages 8 and up are invited to join us for our LEGO® Star Wars RogueOne Build Event. In this open and fun-filled activity, participants and Star Wars fans alike will get to build designs inspired bythe exciting new film coming out this year.
Saturday, October 8, at 11 a.m. – Storytime and Activities Featuring Tek: The Modern Caveboy
Tek is a caveboy in love with technology. His tablet, video games, phone and TV keep him deep in his cave, glued to his devices, day in and day out. He never sees his friends or family anymore – and his ability to communicate has devolved to just one word: “UGH”! Saturday, October 15, at 7 p.m. – Tabletop Gaming Meetup
Customers of all ages should gather their friends and family to come into our store and learn to play the featured games for this celebration of tabletop gaming, including Red Flags, Onitama, Warehouse 51, World’s Fair 1893, Boss Monster and Kitty Paw.
Saturday, October 22, at 11 a.m. – Storytime in Celebration of Halloween featuring Little Blue Truck’s Halloween and I Need My Monster
Beep! Beep! It’s Halloween! Little Blue Truck is back and picking up his animal friends for a costume party. And in I Need My Monster, Ethan checks under his bed for his monster Gabe and finds a note from him instead: “Gone fishing. Saturday, October 29, at 11 a.m. – Storytime and Activities Featuring If You Give a Mouse a Brownie

Saturday October 1st – 10:00 am Kids will be shooting for the stars when they make this adorable Supply Holder.
Saturday October 8th – 10:00 am Come on in and make this Welcome Home! Key Holder.
Saturday October 15th – 10:00 am Want a snake for a pet? Me either! But kids will love these cute Silly Snake Finger Puppets.
Saturday October 22nd – 10:00 am Come in and let the kiddos make a Rockin’ Rainstick.
Saturday October 29th – 10:00 am Get ready for Halloween by making these cute Spooky Spectacles.
Saturday, October 1st – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Join their hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a toy fire truck with real wheels so you can race it to the rescue! Once the toy truck is built, your child can decorate it with paint & vehicle stickers.
*All kid get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.
Michael’s – It looks like Michael’s did some changes to their Kids Corner. The crafts are $2 per child and it reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:30AM – 11:30AM. You also have to log in and create an account to see each activity.
Now, remember one of the biggest expenses that are incurred while we are “out and about” are eating expenses. So, if you are going to eat out – try to plan on eating out for lunch. Lunch menus are always cheaper than dinner menus.
Make sure you pack snacks – you and the kids! I always have a Balance Bar in my truck for me and a few goodies in my purse for the kiddos.
