Free Weekend Activities for September 2016
It’s time to share the FREE and CHEAP weekend activities for September! These fun family activities are either FREE or super cheap…and they are at the stores that we all know and love 🙂

Tampa Museum of Art – Fun and free art crafts called the “Art Spot” every Saturday from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. – Thanks Janel!

Saturday, August 27, at 11 a.m. Summer Reading Triathlon Closing Ceremony
Join us for the Closing Ceremony of our Summer Reading Triathlon. Kids have been voting for their Favorite Hero and Place in books all summer. Voting closes on Sunday, 8/21, and we will announce the local and national medal winners at this event. At the Closing Ceremony, kids will enjoy activities and get a reward for their excellence in reading over the summer. #BNSummerReading
The Summer Reading free book program will continue through Tuesday, 9/6. Kids in Grades 1-6, come in and fill out a Summer Reading Journal and earn a free book.
Lowe’s – All events are recommended for ages 5 and up
Saturday August 27th – 10:00 am Marvel’s Hulk is leaving his mark at Lowe’s this weekend! Bring your child to Lowe’s and they can build the last Avenger of the Summer! Don’t forget to watch Marvel’s Avengers: Ultron Revolution Sunday mornings on Disney XD!

Saturday, September 10th – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Organize some of the kids’ school supplies with a Bright & Beaded Pencil Holder that they will make!
Saturday, September 17th – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Get ready for Fall when the kids make their very own My Fall Masterpiece! Puzzle
Saturday, September 24th – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Kids will love making this Falling Leaves Mobile and hanging it in their rooms.
Saturday, September 3rd – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can get to work on a mini whiteboard with a pen tray they can use for school work or play time. Once the whiteboard is built, your child can paint it in their favorite color.
*All kid get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.
Michael’s – It looks like Michael’s did some changes to their Kids Corner. The crafts are $2 per child and it reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10:30AM – 11:30AM. You also have to log in and create an account to see each activity.
Now, remember one of the biggest expenses that are incurred while we are “out and about” are eating expenses. So, if you are going to eat out – try to plan on eating out for lunch. Lunch menus are always cheaper than dinner menus.
Make sure you pack snacks – you and the kids! I always have a Balance Bar in my truck for me and a few goodies in my purse for the kiddos.
